Opened in 1988 by legendary R&B artist Boz Scaggs, Slim's is a live music nightclub dedicated to providing the public with excellent service, a congenial atmosphere, good food & drinks, and the finest of American Roots, Music--Blues, R&B, Cajun/Zydeco, Jazz, Alternative, and more.

Pollstar Magazine has voted Slim's the best nightclub in America five out of the last eleven years, and for the past two years Slim's was awarded Best Bar & Club by the readers of the San Francisco Chronicle. The club is located in the South of Market district of San Francisco, a hub of nightlife in the city. Although parking in San Francisco is notoriously difficult, we have the luxury of having several hundred parking spaces available at a low-cost garage on our corner.

Slim's offers two-tiered pricing with regards to its rental rates as follows:

Sunday – Wednesday: $4,500

There is an additional, but refundable, Food & Beverage minimum of $3,000 which is subject to a non-refundable 20% service charge* and 8.5% sales tax; refundable damage deposit of $500. We also require a Certificate of Insurance which can be acquired through our insurance company at a cost of $400.

Thursday – Saturday: $6,000

There is an additional, but refundable, Food & Beverage minimum of $5,000 which is subject to a non-refundable 20% service charge* and 8.5% sales tax; refundable damage deposit of $500. We also require a Certificate of Insurance which can be acquired through our insurance company at a cost of $400.

The room rental for Slim's includes a comprehensive event co-ordination and management service, all necessary staff, cocktail tables and chairs. Use of our sound and lighting equipment and technicians are available for $150 - $500 depending on requirements.

Rental rates are based on your event not exceeding five hours (three hours are available prior to the start-time of your event for set-up). Additional hours can be arranged for a fee.

* A service charge of 20% applies for all December events
